Mike has been in the real estate industry for 36 years. Prior to founding Blue Light, he was an original partner at HFF and was part of the Executive/ Management team that took the company public in 2007. He was also part of the executive/management team that completed the sale of HFF to JLL in 2019 for $2bb. Most recently, Mike ran the capital markets business for JLL in the Northeast with direct management responsibility for over 300 employees. During his twenty-six years at HFF/JLL, he completed over $51bb in transactions and was widely recognized as one of the leading intermediaries in the US. Prior to HFF/JLL, he spent six years at Travelers Insurance Company and four years at Legg Mason Real Estate Services. Mike graduated from Skidmore College and has an MBA from Fordham University.

Mr. Burton has over 15 years of commercial real estate credit experience and was most recently the managing partner and founder of Needham Point Capital prior to joining Blue Light to lead the credit strategy. Prior to founding Needham Point Capital, he served as the Head of Originations at Calmwater Capital where he oversaw the sourcing, structuring, and execution of all investment opportunities. During his time at Calmwater he sourced and closed over $600MM of debt investments across 25 transactions, throughout all major asset classes. Mr. Burton sat on the Management Team within Calmwater and had oversight of the Origination and Marketing efforts of the firm. Prior to joining Calmwater in 2018, Mr. Burton was a Vice President at Garrison Investment Group where he was responsible for Garrison’s US commercial real estate lending platform. While at Garrison, Mr. Burton was also directly involved in the sourcing, underwriting, and management of over $2B of sub-performing and non-performing commercial real estate debt. Mr. Burton began his career in the commercial real estate banking group at Anglo Irish Bank in New York. Mr. Burton received a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado – Boulder.

Mr. Gaines has more than 6 years of experience across the real estate debt origination and capital markets spectrum. Prior to Blue Light, Chilton was a Vice President at Customers Bank primarily originating senior lien bridge and construction mortgages as well as note-on-note and line of credit facilities. Prior to Customers, Chilton spent two years at Amherst Capital originating bridge loans on transitional properties nationwide. In addition, he had responsibilities in asset management, fund reporting, investor relations, and capital markets. Chilton began his career at Peoples United Bank underwriting bridge and construction lending opportunities. Throughout his career, Chilton has been responsible for sourcing, structuring, underwriting and executing real estate credit opportunities in excess of $400mm. Chilton received a BA in finance from the University of Richmond.

Katie Martucci is the Chief Administrative Officer at Blue Light Capital, where she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the company's administrative functions and ensuring operational efficiency. Katie also contributes as an assistant in human resources, fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee well-being. With a strong background in administration and human resources, Katie combines her organizational skills and people-centric approach to drive the success and growth of Blue Light Capital. Katie played Division I volleyball for Providence College and later graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Sociology from the University of Delaware.

Carly currently serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications for Blue Light Capital and BL Next. She oversees internal and external communication strategies to support student-athletes, university partners, corporate partners, and mentors within the BL Next Athletic Alliance. She leads Blue Light’s marketing efforts to drive awareness of the brand and mission and increase engagement within the community. Carly also works as Assistant Director of the Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate at Villanova University. She creates valuable opportunities for Villanova students to acquire skills, knowledge, and experiences in the commercial real estate industry. She is deeply committed to supporting students to ensure they reach their full potential. Carly holds an MBA from Villanova University, with specializations in Marketing, Real Estate, and Finance, as well as a BA in Advertising from Penn State University.
